Pet Pantry Schedule Update
For the past two years, the Familiar Hearts Pet Pantry has been made possible by an extraordinary community of donors, volunteers, and neighbors who have helped provide food, litter, and other essentials to pets and the people who love them. We are deeply grateful for every donation and every set of hands that made these distributions possible.
At this time, Familiar Hearts does not have any additional Pet Pantry events scheduled for 2026. Our ability to resume future distributions will depend in part on securing the storage space needed to safely maintain Pet Pantry supplies. Any future Familiar Hearts Pet Pantry dates will be posted here as soon as they are scheduled.

We’re thrilled to announce a new partnership between Familiar Hearts Animal Society and the Germantown Community Fridge (GCF), a collaboration that helps ensure no bowl goes empty in Northwest Philadelphia.
Together, we’re stocking community pantries with dog and cat food so that families facing food insecurity don’t have to make the impossible choice between feeding themselves and feeding their pets. Because food insecurity doesn’t just affect people, it touches the lives of their beloved companions, too.
Find Familiar Hearts sponsored pet food + items at GCF Neighbor’s Table events hosted every third Saturday of each month.

Pet Pantry
Familiar Hearts Animal Society has started the first pet pantry project in Germantown Philadelphia!
Our goal is to help members in the community who are currently struggling financially, be able to provide their pets basic necessities, such as food, litter, and flea prevention medication. This will help keep pets in their homes and out of the already overcrowded city shelter and off the street.
The first pet pantry was in March of 2025 where we helped 68 pet owners and 263 pets - right out of the gates! Since then, this project has offered nearly one thousand instances of support to animals + their humans in NW Philadelphia. Helping our neighbors breath more easily, even for a time, helps us all breath more easily.
We were able to help so many individuals and pets because of the out pour of support that we received from individuals and local businesses. This is a 100% donation based and volunteer run project. In order to continue executing pet pantry events, we need continued support from the community in the form of monetary donations, supply donations and volunteers.
